Not many discussions evoke as much debate and emotion as the origin of life. There are many theories ranging from being carved out of trees to a wave of an unseen hand. The champions for all of the sides are religious leaders, learned scientists, or imaginative wacko�s. All of these varied ideas give cause for libraries of; books, articles, videos, and newsletters, each as compelling as the last. Though there was an experiment that buttressed the scientist argument, the experiment was conducted at the University of Chicago in 1953 by Harold Urey and Stanley Miller.

Many people were surprised, though the Miller-Urey experiment was said to have been inaccurate; the primitive atmosphere was said to have been wrong.
