The Outsiders

The Outsiders by S.E Hinton was written in the 1960�s. It�s a boring book with under developed characters and is over all poor story. It is two sides of town one being poor where the �Greasers� live and one being rich where the �Socs� live. The Greaser and the Socs are in constant conflict throughout the book. In the story the two main are Ponyboy Curtis and Johnny Cade. These characters personality,behavior, and relationships with others change throughout the book because of tragedy�s.

Ponyboy�s best friend is Johnny, Ponyboy and Johnny are both in the Greaser gang, they get along well because they are both quiet and can communicate without saying anything they just know what the other one is thinking, and when Johnny kills a Soc Ponyboy is with him and both Johnny and Ponyboy hide out in an abandoned church. Ponyboy has 2 older brothers that he lives with because his parents died and Darry, Ponyboy�s oldest brother is often to hard on Ponyboy, because of this Ponyboy thinks that Darry hates and doesn�t love him but Ponyboy gets along with his middle brother Sodapop great mainly because it�s Sodapop who is always sticking up for him.
