The Printing Press

In the Renaissance all of the letters of the alphabet, that were needed, were placed in the printing press backwards; so that the writing piece could be printed. A German inventor, Johannes Gutenberg, once created a machine referred to as the printing press. The printing press used something called movable type. Movable type is an indent of letters on block pieces, and then these were covered with ink. Parchment is then placed on the ink which prints words on it. The printing press was an important tool for spreading new ideas during the Renaissance.

Additionally, the printing press made books more available for the people of the Renaissance. The printing press made information more available throughout Europe. Bibles as well as prayer books and political pamphlets were very popular reading materials during the time period. Before the printing press, books were expensive, rare, and made by hand. When Gutenberg�s invention took place bookmaking became faster and simpler. Inventions such as this are marvelous!
To follow with, the printing press could make books faster, but in a more efficient way.
