Have you ever been to a concert or a special event somewhere and seen a band performing? Or even better, have you ever had the opportunity to be in one of these groups? I think that is one of the most amazing things you can participate in. The youth worship team of the First Baptist Church of Groesbeck gets a chance to partake in this experience every Wednesday night. The team, just like any other band, seems to be, at first glance, one simple group, but is actually several unique threads woven together in a tapestry of humility and service.

Behind the three vocalists, soft, yet driving percussive tones provide a foundation for the beautiful sounds created by the use of their talents. Behind all the melodies, as well as the band members, low harmonizing tones blend and balance, their maker unseen.
Advancing a few feet reveals the more personal aspect of the group, and the before unseen author of the sonorous tones. Rising from the jungle of wires and equipment is their fearless leader, the one they call Tom. Somewhat towering above the ground, with small dashes of gray in his hair, he is clearly the most experienced of the talented five. His small dark eyes glow with an intensity of tenderness and love.
