Tropical Rainforests

A tropical rain forest is a luxuriant forest, generally composed of broad-leaved trees and found in wet tropical uplands and lowlands around the Equator. Tropical rainforests occur in regions of the tropics where temperatures are always high and where rainfall exceeds an average of 50 to 260 inches (at least 250 cm. and sometimes double that) of rainfall annually and occurs fairly evenly throughout the year. Mean temperatures in tropical rainforest regions are between 68 and 84 °F (20 and 29 °C). The mean temperature never falls below 64 °F (18 °C ).
