Andy Warhol was an arbiter of New York. He was a genius whose controversial movies and paintings epitomized the prevailing moral and cultural spirit during his time. He was born in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania and earned huge respect as a commercial artist during the 1950s. He graduated from Carnegie Institute of Technology in 1949 with a degree in Pictorial Design and moved to New York to start his career as a commercial artist. Warhol was the first artist to utilize screen-sprint technology in his artwork to capture the appearance of mass media pictures. He became the most famous artist of pop artists who emerged in the 1960s and later became an icon of pop artists' movements.
