Watching an Indian Film with a Friend Who Has Never Seen One

white American who had never seen an Indian movie and who likes action, skyfy and horror movies. He told me that he likes to listen any kind of music.
I picked the movie Om Shanti Om. When we started to watch It the first question my viewer asked me was "What religion those people follow?" - I answered him that 80 % of their population is Muslim. He asked me what means Om since he is not familiar with Indian names. During watching and listening to the first song my viewer asked me: "How come Om is singing and dancing on a scene and at the same time he is in the public listening to himself? Are they two different persons who just look alike, or they are twins?" I expected such scenes because I've already watched numerous Bollywood movies, but my viewer was confused and looking for a logic in the film's and song's plot.
