Each store acts independently of the other stores; however, they do remain in communication with the corporate office via a WAN. In 2005 Wendy's implemented a Wi-Fi network for the front of the house, back of the house and communication with corporate.

Each Wendy's location has at least one POS system that communicates via wireless or RJ-45 network connection, which allows employees to take customer's orders and accept payment such as cash or credit and debit cards. This system communicates with a merchant network system which allows for quick access to verify credit card accounts exist as well as check for availability of fund, as well as networked order screen for the kitchen, and an inventory management system for back of the office use.
