Christmas of 1977 there was only one thing I wanted. It was the same thing every girl in my kindergarten class wanted, Wonder Woman Underroos. Wonder Woman was the reason we raced to the playground every day and twirled around in circles. The boys could choose between Superman, Batman, and Spiderman, but for the girls, there was only one clear choice, Wonder Woman. Wonder Woman stood for much more than just fighting bad guys and crime, she had an allegiance to democracy, believed in truth and justice, lived by a code to do no harm, and knew that women were the wave of the future.
