The number of people in need of hearts, livers, kidneys, lungs, pancreases, and transplanted cells are in the thousands. The supply of human organs and tissues is and always will be insufficient to satisfy the great needs. Scientists looked in , the transplanting of tissues and organs from animals to humans, as a possible answer to the dilemma.
