is a disorder where a person, of any race, lacks skin pigmentation. No one is believed to have discovered but there are reports that date back to 1904. Although rare, several famous people have . Some famous people with are Johnny and Edgar Winter: the blues brothers, Salif Keita: �The Golden Voice of Mali�, Yellowman: the reggae rebel, and Rev. William Archibald Spooner.
There are at least 6 different types of caused by alterations at 6 different genes. The list of these genes and their chromosomal locations is below.

Another symptom is pinkness to the eyes. This pinkness can cause poor vision and even blindness. White hair is also a sign of Albinism. Due to the non-pigmentation of the skin, hair, and eyes Albino�s are very sensitive to light and the sun.

There are many ways to help an albino through life but no cure to the disorder. There are special eye thingies that help with vision. Some people who have albinism must use larger fonts for computer use. In schools the Teachers usually will seat a student with albinism closer to the board so they can see better. There�s thing�s like sunscreen and hats for those albino�s who refuse to stay inside.

The future for albino�s is bright (no pun intended). There are new treatments being tested every day. There are also many people with albinism that have survived, and I see no reason why others can�t survive. There are several people who are famous, listed above, with albinism. Those people did not let their disorder get in the way ...
