At the end of World War II, only two global powers remained: the USSR and the United States. Both harbored different beliefs and governments, and a confrontation was bound to happen. This confrontation however, wasn t a battle of weapons, but of wills. There were no major military strikes between these two during the Cold War. The military strategist, Sun Tzu once wrote in The Art of War that to win without fighting is best. If the Cold War was fought with weapons, it would have been nuclear, and millions of people would have died.
