uneasiness, obsessive thoughts, flashbacks of traumatic events, nightmares, problems sleeping, cold or sweaty hands and/or feet, shortness of breath, inability to be still or calm, dry mouth, numbness or tingling in the hands or feet, nausea, muscle tension, and dizziness. While it is hard to think about, some people have all of these symptoms at one time. This can cause the person to have even more anxiety if they are unaware of what is going on. Anxiety disorders can effect about 19 million adult Americans. These disorders can also develop during childhood, adolescence, and early adulthood. They also tend to occur more often with women than men.
The exact cause of Anxiety disorders is unknown, however, research that has been done suggested that it is cause by a combination of factors, including changes in the brain and environmental stress.
