was the world�s sex symbol of the twentieth century. Although she was hugely successful in movies and loved by all, she lived a dissipated life of drugs and depression.
was born June first, 1926 as Norma Jean Mortenson. Her mother was mentally ill and her father was dead so she was sent to an orphanage where she spent her childhood years. She said that the nuns there treated her harshly, but for her own good. At the ripe age of sixteen, Marilyn married Jim Daugherty. But the marriage was ill fated and did not last long at all.
