Many students decide to pursue their degrees on a part-time basis, often so that they can work to pay off their tuition. However, attending school part-time means that students will take up to twice as long to achieve their degrees. Part-time school work means less momentum and interest is generated on the part of the student. When workloads are heavy, students have no choice but to buckle down and study. Because full-time students attend more classes and have more homework, they work harder in general than part-time students do. Because full-time students spend more time studying, more money on school, and gain more knowledge from their academic and real-world experiences, they are generally more responsible than part-time students.
Because of the very nature of part-time studying, students spend less time on learning when they only attend school part-time. Fewer classes per day or per week are attended and there is less homework to do after class. As a result, the student can easily lose interest in their work.
