Personal Writing: Statues On Campus



When I went around looking for art on campus Friday night, I looked at the various sculptors on campus. I decided to do the statue in front of the library because I could did not really think that I could come up with that much to say about the other various art items around, and I think that I was just trying to find something and write about it so I could get done with it. This is because I really do not like art and it is hard for me to concentrate on things that deal with art.

The person in the statue looks intent on reading or studying, and looks like he understands the literature that he is reading.
When came back to look at the statue Sunday night when it was dark out, I saw few changes that caught my eye. First was the way the lights around the library reflex off the statue. It makes the statue seem that in was just made the day before. It enhances the fine detail even more than when you look at it during the day. Another thing that is different is the shadow that the lights make for the statue it makes seem almost bigger. The way the shadow looks it almost makes it seem real that the statue is alive. One thing that I notice both times when I was observing the statue is that almost everybody pauses for a brief second to look at it. I probably only saw two people not look at the statue when I was observing it. This also could be because I was walking around it taking notes.
