Issues dealing with death can be traced all the way back to biblical times. The bible clearly states in Exodus 20:13,"Thou shalt not kill". The Bible also says in Leviticus 24:17, " He who kills a man shall be put to death". As one can clearly see, the issue of the death penalty has been debated forever and is still a controversial issue in America today. Bedua, author of Death is Different, tells us that "[In America, the death penalty was deemed to be unconstitutional until] the United States Supreme Court ruled that the death penalty is a deterrent for murder. This definitely seems to be a logical solution because anyone who knows they will die probably is not going to kill another ...
