My family has been involved in church all of my life, but my faith and depth of participation has evolved significantly through my later teenage years. My membership with our church youth group has been an integral part of my spiritual growth, Christian vision, and who I am today. Events with the group encompass my entire day on Sunday, local community service and yearly mission trips. On one particular mission trip to Little Rock, Arkansas, in an area struck with poverty and despair, my membership, faith, and spirituality with this group reached a pinnacle and significantly changed me.

events, my faith started to broaden and my sense of belonging started to grow.

As I started to feel my sense of belonging, I started to do local mission activities, including volunteering at nursing homes and visiting with women's shelters. At these various places, we would interact and talk to the people in need of someone to talk to and make them feel wanted. These activities helped me share my faith and Christian love with others in different settings who needed love.

As I did every year since I had joined the youth group, I was about to embark on another mission trip. Usually mission trips are made up of different elements to help us develop a spiritual bond throughout the group while also helping others.
