The Outsiders

In the book The Outsiders there are three Curtis boys (Ponyboy, Darry, and Sodapop) that know something about tragedy. Both there parents pass away in a car accident, and with Darry, being the oldest had to give up his dreams of a college scholarship to take care of his three brothers. Ponybody is a quiet shy boy who does well in school and takes his schoolwork seriously. Sodapop is the middle brother and has dropped out of high school to work at a gas station, his good nature, and often brought peace to battles between Darry and Ponyboy.

of the Socs group. After the movie, the three girls leave with the three greasers, because the girl�s dates (Bob and Randy) got drunk. However, when they are on there way home the two boyfriends catch up to them. The girls then agree to go back with there boyfriend Bob and Randy to avoid a fight, but Johnny and Ponyboy walk them home anyway. Because Ponyboy gets in a fight with Darry because he is late in getting home Darry hits him and Ponyboy runs away and Johnny joins him. The two Soc boys (Bob and Randy) find that both the Ponyboy and Johnny are in the Park and they begin to fight them. While fighting Bob and Randy almost drown Ponyboy in the fountain but Johnny kills Bob with his knife. Terrified they go run to Dally because he always knows what to do when they are in trouble. Dally hands them some cash and a gun and sends them to an abandoned church a small distance out of town to hide for a few days.
Dally comes out to check on Johnny and Ponyboy after they've been in hiding ...
