The Newsweek article, "Columbine's Tragic Wake", describes the troubles and pain still taking place in the community of Littleton, Co. The people of Littleton are searching for answers and blaming everyone and everything for the tragedy. By placing blame, the community hopes to speed up the healing process. I believe they will never be healed. The Columbine shootings could be compared to the Herpes virus. When you have Herpes there is no cure and just when you think you are healed a sore appears in a different part of your body. Littleton's "sores" are the problems that seem to keep surfacing in different areas of the community. The only thing the people of Littleton can do is accept ...

the shooting are spending more time with their lawyers than they are with their own family. They are trying to sue everyone with any kind of connection to the tragedy. Court victories will not bring back the people that were killed. These parents should forget about their court cases and spend more time with their families. If they had paid more attention to their families in the first place this terrible event might have never occurred.
The final "sore" the community needs to accept is that the killings were not based upon race or religion. The students were killed or injured simply for being in the wrong place at the wrong time. The killers were shooting at everyone. Once again the people of Littleton would love to point the finger a certain race or religion and say they are to blame. However, after police found bombs placed in the school by the killers, it is obviously apparent that their goal was to kill everyone.
