Honesty relates to many peoples lives, it challenges people everyday. It can cause distress in peoples lives as they struggle to find the morally right thing to do, or it can cause dishonesty in fear of what people might do. Honesty can be associated with stories, as characters struggle with their moral compasses their honesty is sometimes tested. Three stories that display the theme of honesty would be �Romeo & Juliet�, Monster, and What happened to Cass McBride.

appears throughout the story. The story gets its plot from a note which shared its honest opinions on David, leading to David�s suicide. Cass, in fear of losing her life, tells Kyle numerous lies to help get out of the box that she was trapped inside. Also, Mr. McBride believed that being dishonest for self-benefit, however at the end of the book he learned to value more important things than himself, like Cass. If Mr. McBride taught Cass how to keep bad things to herself, even if their honest, then maybe David would have never killed himself.
The novel Monster also contains many moments where the theme honesty is relevant. The convicts who are persecuting against Steve display the fear behind being honest. The convicts were granted less jail time if they contributed in the prosecution, therefore leading them to say what the prosecution wanted them to say.
