Tom Sawyer

This story is about a young boy named Tom Sawyer. He is growing up along the Mississippi River in the mid 1800s. Tom Sawyer lives with his Aunt Polly, half-brother, Sid, and cousin, Mary. Tom is a very mischievous young boy. He can usually find a way out of everything. In his world there is an adventure around every corner. Some of his adventures have leaded him into some bad situations but with his good heart and bright mind he has gotten out of them. When this side of Tom is revealed the most, it is when he does the fence whitewashing scene. Tom starts to flirt with the new girl in town, Becky Thatcher. This leads to asking her to be "engaged." did it. Joe then jumped out of a window, and escaped. Becky Thatcher invites the town's children to a picnic near a cave. Tom and Becky get lost inside of the cave. Injun Joe is also hiding out in the cave. Tom soon finds an opening in the wall. Huck and Tom return to the cave to find Joe's treasure. They became the heroes of the town!

Characters

I chose several of the major characters. The characters are: Huckleberry Finn, Tom Sawyer and Becky Thatcher.

Huckleberry Finn � he was the son of the town drunkard. All the mothers of the town dreaded and hated Huckleberry because he was lazy, vulgar and lawless. They were afraid that the boys will copy his behavior. Huckleberry was always dressed in the cast-off clothes of full-grown men. He didn't have to go to school or church, call anybody master or obey anyone, he was his one master. Huckleberry Finn was one of Tom Sawyers friends, and they spend time together often.
