Vegetarianism

Billions of animals are slaughtered every year for the sake of human consumption. Cows, chickens, and turkeys are just a few examples of these. I�ve seen the pictures, and let me be the one to tell you that they�re not exactly pretty. For this reason, I am a vegetarian. This has given me great pride and happiness because I feel that I make a difference in the amount of animals saved. Other than the ethical reasons, there are other reasons to go vegetarian. These include many things, including health benefits and playing a part in cutting down on pollution.

into America�s water supply, contaminating it and risking the spread of disease and reducing our water quality.
The third and most important reason is that today�s farms are not like before, where an animal was able to roam freely. They are raised in factory farms in the worst conditions. Often times, animals die in these farms and are left for days before being picked up. The ethical dilemma faced with this is obvious. Animals are treated with immense cruelty, only to face a horrible fate in the end.
For these three reasons, I feel that vegetarianism is something that should be embraced and practiced by all. With such a wide variety of foods to eat as a vegetarian, beginning this diet is much easier than it was before. Why not ...
