Everyday students work vigorously to secure academic success. They frequently set goals for themselves and strive to reach them. The American dream is like a grade which a student works hard to receive. It is a goal that one sets for himself. America to him was a fresh sheet of paper on which one could start a new painting of �the good life.� In America, one has rights. Americans can originate from anywhere and still be called an American. De Crevecoeur holds this fact to be of the utmost importance.
